Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteI was glad to see your blog show up in my google alerts. We have a variety of similarities in our lives, past and present. Stop by my memoir oriented blog some time, and check out some of the other bloggers on my link list. The whole project of publicizing/extending ourselves to the world through this wild medium of the internet makes us pioneers of sorts, and there are many ways we can learn from and support each other.
Best wishes,
Jerry Waxler

ReplyDeleteThanks, Jerry.
I have actually posted excerpts from my memoir on my memoir blog.

Also, if anyone is interested, I will post excerpts and blurbs of others' memoirs on. See

Damn, I read all the way through your "about" page, and kept thinking "I don't know what is 'good' writing but I like this voice, and it keeps pulling me. I want to know more. The writing makes me curious to understand this person. So does that make it 'good' or does it just mean that reader and writer have some sort of 'match up thing' the way actual people do." Then I got to the end to leave a comment and see that I already left a comment two years ago. Did I read the whole thing back then, and forgot? Did you change it? Is it okay to enjoy an about page twice, does it mean I'm getting old, or just that I was right the first time? All these questions and many more arise from your excellent page. Keep up the good writing. All that practice writing books shows. I have a friend (Jonathan Maberry) who "suddenly" at 50 started cranking out bestsellers - he was an overnight success story who took 30 years to reach that night. Let's join him.

Good idea, Jerry.
ReplyDeleteI often read books twice, so it's good to know that someone else has read my "About" page twice.
Thanks for the kudos!
Hi Jennifer,
